Our Mission

Our mission is to make the biomarker suPAR a household name, much like the biomarkers cholesterol, insulin, and glucose. Each of those biomarkers had champions along the way to craft their fame and relevance within the zeitgeist.

We intend to do what it takes for suPAR to become a household name.

Tapping Into Human Curiosity

By bringing awareness to a biomarker - something inside of every human - we tap into the infinite expansion of human curiosity.

The suPAR biomarker exists within each of us, waiting to be discovered and understood. When we illuminate what was previously hidden, we create a bridge between scientific discovery and personal empowerment.

Our bet is that when an educated individual learns about suPAR, they may seek to understand themselves further through a suPARbio Systemic Chronic Inflammation Test.

Accessible Testing
for All

Our business model is based on making testing and results reporting available for those who are curious about their own levels of systemic chronic inflammation - regardless of where they are in their journey of looking within for guidance.

Universal Access

Testing available to anyone, anywhere in their health journey

Inner Guidance

Supporting those seeking deeper self-understanding

Strategic Repositioning for Global Impact

Through a strategic repositioning of suPAR from the handful of Scandinavian hospitals who utilized it for sepsis testing - to the infinite expanse of individuals seeking to understand their systemic chronic inflammation as it relates to healthspan, we see an opportunity to activate a global phenomenon.

Global Phenomenon

Transcending traditional healthcare barriers

This transcends the traditional barriers to entry for clinical tools, healthcare products and/or consumer wellness brands. We are opening up the awareness to something hidden in plain sight that exists inside of everyone - which we enable you to access & understand. Now, and for the next 40 years or more.

About Us

suPARbio is a company that measures systemic chronic inflammation through a blood test. It was formed by Matt Wiggins, an American healthcare entrepreneur and investor - who has dealt since childhood with health issues caused by chronic inflammation. His research led him to Denmark, where Danish scientists have studied this for more than 25 years. The team, lead by Dr. Jesper Eugen-Olsen discovered that a protein called soluble urokinase Plasminogen Activator Receptor (suPAR) is the most stable biomarker for systemic chronic inflammation.

suPARbio is grateful to have an exclusive United States distribution agreement for the soluble urokinase Plasminogen Activator Receptor (suPAR) biomarker with ViroGates A/S, a NASDAQ listed company based in Denmark.

suPARbio looks forward to making available 25 years of pioneering work from Danish bioscientist Dr. Jesper Eugen-Olsen, and his band of merry pranksters at ViroGates in Birkerod, Denmark. The team at ViroGates A/S is responsible for discovering suPAR’s prognostic significance in the 1990s and advancing the peer reviewed & published research on suPAR.

Today, Virogates A/S holds a significant patent portfolio around all aspects of the suPAR biomarker, including its clinical use worldwide. The team at suPARbio believes that individuals, physicians and anyone interested in population health management - should be paying attention to the insights around “biological risk” from suPARbio Systemic Chronic Inflammation testing.

Jakob Knudsen

CEO of ViroGates

"We are happy to start a collaboration with SuPARbio to target the United States market. Knowledge of an individual's suPAR score is an excellent marker for those interested in a healthier lifestyle. We are also very happy to welcome Remedy Ventures (Matt Wiggins) as one of our sizable investors in our cap table. We believe that the combination of a distribution agreement and direct investment is a strong signal that suPARbio and Remedy are committed to this big opportunity, and we look forward to supporting the efforts in the US with data from our research and development efforts worldwide over the past 20 years."

Matt Wiggins

Managing Partner of suPARbio

"Unmanaged systemic chronic inflammation in individuals - being labelled 'inflammaging' by some scientists - leads to costs in the US healthcare system, so I believe many cost containment and population health management strategies could eventually include proactive monitoring of suPAR levels. Knowledge is power, and in the future it's possible health insurance companies could offer the test as a benefit to their members, since health plan benefit designs often reimburse for the type of lifestyle interventions and treatments that keep individuals' systemic chronic inflammation under control and lower their suPAR scores. For now, this distribution partnership enables the rapid adoption of suPARbio Systemic Chronic Inflammation testing among the private pay ecosystem - notably the longevity medicine, functional medicine and whole person medicine communities - where there is the most demand for this type of proven test for systemic chronic inflammation. On a personal note, I am grateful for my interactions with Danish culture that have expanded my awareness and satisfied the inner medical anthropologist - I am excited to share suPARbio Systemic Chronic Inflammation Testing in the US and have a reason to visit Denmark more frequently."
