The suPAR Biomarker
Stands on 20+ Years of Bioscience
Explore Your Biological Stress.
Understand Your Chronic Inflammation.
The suPAR test measures the concentration of suPAR (soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor) in your blood, a protein that reflects the level of chronic inflammation in your body.
As of Spring 2026, the suPAR test is offered in the United States under CLIA regulations for Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs). It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
suPAR (soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor) has been studied extensively in Europe and globally since its discovery in 1991. Over 1,000 peer-reviewed studies have explored its role in the immune response, chronic inflammation, and systemic stress.
Research Driven. Internationally Validated.
What Is InflammAGE?
Chronic inflammation has been widely studied for its potential role in the aging process, often referred to as 'inflammaging.' This concept explores how immune activity may relate to biological aging.
suPAR levels naturally rise with age in healthy people. Your Biological Age Index* shows the chronological age at which your suPAR level is typical for healthy individuals of your sex; if it’s higher than your actual age, it may indicate accelerated biological aging linked to elevated chronic inflammation.
*The Biological Age Index is a statistical estimate based on population-level data and should not be considered a definitive measure of physiological age. Reference ranges are derived from Northern European populations and may not be directly applicable to all ethnic groups.
Understanding Chronic Inflammation Over Time With suPAR
Unlike CRP (a more widely known biomarker), which spikes during infections, suPAR provides a stable view of chronic inflammation. Repeated testing can track lifestyle-driven changes, and some studies have observed suPAR shifts over 4–12 weeks.
A Simple Process
to Get Tested
Step 1. Register Your Test
Scan the QR code on your test kit to securely link your sample to you. If it’s your first time, you’ll create a login to access your results when they’re ready.
Step 2. Blood Draw
You can have your blood drawn at your doctor's office, a local lab, or right at home by a licensed healthcare professional.
Step 3. Sample Preparation
A centrifuge is used to separate the plasma from your blood sample. The plasma is then prepared for research analysis of suPAR.
Step 4. Sample Shipment
The healthcare professional who drew your blood will prepare your plasma sample and handle secure shipment to a CLIA-certified laboratory for processing.
Step 5. Receive Results
Access your suPAR test results through our secure online portal. Results should be available within 7 days.
FAQs
-
suPAR (soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor) is a protein released from cells that reflects the level of systemic chronic inflammation in your body. Systemic chronic inflammation is a persistent, low-grade inflammatory state that plays a major role in the development and progression of many chronic diseases.
-
Unlike acute inflammation markers (such as CRP) that spike with infections or injuries and quickly return to normal, suPAR provides a stable measure of your underlying chronic inflammatory state. Research demonstrates that suPAR provides prognostic information about disease risk and mortality that is independent of and additive to other inflammatory markers such as CRP

How reliable is the suPAR test in predicting biological age?
The suPAR-based Biological Age Index is an estimate, not a diagnosis. suPAR levels naturally rise with age in healthy people, and we use that relationship to estimate the chronological age at which your suPAR level is typical for healthy individuals of your sex. If your Biological Age is higher than your actual age, it may indicate accelerated biological aging associated with elevated chronic inflammation.
How we calculate it:
Benchmarked to reference data from 9,303 healthy Danish blood donors (ages 18–65).
Sex-adjusted, because women generally have ~10% higher suPAR than men.
-
suPAR is a modifiable biomarker that can respond to lifestyle changes, but timing varies by person. To track progress and see how changes affect chronic inflammation, consider retesting in 1–9 months, based on your health status and goals. Consult your health care provider.
